ABOUT THIS WINE
Château Durfort-Vivens 2019 is a red wine from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, France, classified as a 2ème Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Classification. The estate, managed by Gonzague Lurton, has a history dating back to the 14th century and is committed to biodynamic farming. The 2019 vintage was influenced by a hot, dry summer with beneficial late rains, leading to a late harvest. The wine is distinguished by its balance and purity, partly achieved through aging in amphorae, reflecting the estate's focus on expressing its unique terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Château Durfort-Vivens 2019 is produced using grapes from vineyards managed with organic and biodynamic practices. Vinification is tailored to individual plots, with fermentation occurring in a mix of oak, concrete, and terracotta amphorae, utilizing natural yeasts. The wine is aged for 18 months, with a portion in new French oak barrels and the remainder in terracotta amphorae. The harvest for the 2019 vintage was conducted late in September, following rains that benefited the Cabernet Sauvignon.
