WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Gérard Bertrand Château L'Hospitalet La Réserve Rouge 2022 begins with rigorous sorting and destemming of hand-harvested grapes. Each varietal is vinified separately in temperature-controlled vats, with maceration lasting between 20 to 25 days. A portion of the Syrah undergoes whole-cluster fermentation. Following vinification, the wine is aged for 12 to 16 months in new 225-liter French oak barrels. The selection of the best barrels from each varietal contributes to the final blend. The estate adheres to Terra Vitis sustainable viticulture and holds organic and biodynamic certifications.
