WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Château Rauzan-Ségla begins with a hand harvest, where grapes are carefully sorted and transported in small crates. Transfers to the winery are managed by gravity, minimizing mechanical stress on the fruit. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with each parcel vinified separately to highlight its distinct character. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging in French oak barrels, with 60% new oak used for the 2019 vintage. The wine is then fined using traditional egg whites before bottling. This meticulous approach ensures the preservation of fruit quality and the development of a complex, age-worthy wine.
