ABOUT THIS WINE
Château Teyssier in Montagne-Saint-Émilion (not to be confused with the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate of the same name) dates back to the 15th century, surrounding an 18th-century chateau. Helmed by the Durand-Teyssier and Darquey families since 1920, the estate is currently managed by Antoine Darquey and Thomas Durand-Teyssier. Located on the highest clay-limestone plateau northeast of Saint-Émilion, reaching altitudes of 114 meters, the estate benefits from a terroir comparable to elite Right Bank properties. Since 2014, the winemaking has been guided by the renowned consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, focusing on expressing the unique mineral energy of this historic site.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2023 vintage is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The estate is certified HVE3, employing sustainable viticulture with mechanical soil-working and minimal sulfur. In the gravity-fed cellar, plot-by-plot vinification is conducted to minimize pumping and preserve fruit integrity. The wine is aged for 10 to 14 months, with 70% of the blend maturing in French oak barrels (225L and 400L, 30% new oak) and the remaining 30% in stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness and vibrant fruit character before final assembly.
