ABOUT THIS WINE
Château Tronquoy Lalande 2017 is a red wine from the Saint-Estèphe appellation in Bordeaux, France. The estate itself is one of the oldest in the region, with a history dating back to the 18th century, and was acquired by Martin and Olivier Bouygues in 2006. Its vineyard is situated on gravelly hilltops, benefiting from the terroir of the appellation. The 2017 vintage experienced varied weather conditions, including a heatwave and beneficial September rains, resulting in a wine with good acidity and firm tannins. A distinctive aspect of this wine is its blend, which features a higher proportion of Merlot (55%) compared to many Saint-Estèphe wines, contributing to its plush character.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Château Tronquoy Lalande 2017 is produced using hand-harvested grapes, with each batch vinified separately. Fermentation occurs in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures, followed by a long maceration period of up to four weeks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 25% new oak. The estate also incorporates sustainable energy practices, utilizing geothermal, solar, and wind power in its cellar operations, and is undergoing organic conversion.
