WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc involves a blend of fermentation vessels, including French oak barrels, demi-muids, and stainless steel tanks, tailored to specific grape varietals. Roussanne and Grenache undergo fermentation in oak, while Clairette and Bourboulenc utilize both oak and stainless steel. Low-temperature fermentation is a key technique to preserve aromatics. Following fermentation, the wine is aged on its fine lees for approximately nine months, contributing to its texture and complexity. The 2022 harvest was characterized by early picking due to challenging weather conditions, with grapes being hand-harvested at full ripeness.
