ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Thillardon Chénas Les Blemonts 2022 is a 100% Gamay from the Chénas cru in Beaujolais, France. Founded in the early 2000s, Domaine Thillardon is a family-run estate dedicated to organic and biodynamic farming, employing methods like horse plowing to nurture a balanced ecosystem. This artisanal approach focuses on expressing the unique Chénas terroir through natural winemaking. The Chénas appellation, known for its granitic soils, contributes to wines with both finesse and structure. The 2022 vintage, marked by hot and dry conditions, yielded grapes with excellent phenolic ripeness, resulting in balanced wines with aromatic intensity and a smooth structure.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Domaine Thillardon Chénas Les Blemonts 2022 is produced using 100% Gamay grapes. Key techniques include whole cluster fermentation and semi-carbonic maceration, with macerations lasting 15 to 28 days, utilizing native yeasts. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats. The wine is aged for several months in concrete vats, large foudres, and old barrels. Harvest is done by hand, with grapes cooled to 7-10°C before vinification. The estate practices organic and biodynamic farming, including horse plowing and avoiding synthetic products. No sulfur is added at vatting.
