ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Yohan Lardy was established in 2012 when fifth-generation Beaujolais vigneron Yohan Lardy returned home after completing viticultural studies in Mâcon-Davayé and winemaking abroad. The 'Les Deschamps' cuvée originates from a tiny micro-plot of just 0.22 hectares in the Chénas appellation, planted with old Gamay vines dating back to 1945. Situated on deep granitic sand and quartz soils at 200-300 meters elevation, this small vineyard yields a highly sought-after, authentic natural red wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Hand-harvested from ancient vines, the grapes undergo 100% whole-cluster semi-carbonic maceration for 20 days at cool temperatures to preserve vibrant fruit and floral character. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts and zero added sulfur. After pressing, the wine undergoes natural malolactic fermentation and ages for 8 to 10 months on fine lees in neutral oak barrels and foudres. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal added sulfites.
