ABOUT THIS WINE
The Lubanzi Chenin Blanc 2023 hails from the Swartland region of South Africa, a testament to the producer's commitment to ethical and sustainable winemaking. Lubanzi Wines, a socially conscious cooperative, was founded by two American travelers who aimed to create wines that offer exceptional value while positively impacting wine farm laborers. The company is a certified B Corporation, Fair for Life Fair Trade Certified, and Climate Neutral Certified, dedicating 50% of its net profits to the Pebbles Project, which supports wine farm workers and their communities. This particular vintage features 100% Chenin Blanc grapes from 20-year-old, dry-farmed bush vines, reflecting the unique terroir of the Swartland.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Lubanzi Chenin Blanc 2023 is produced using a philosophy of minimal intervention. Grapes are hand-picked and hand-sorted before undergoing spontaneous fermentation with naturally occurring yeasts. The wine is then fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, with some aging occurring on lees to develop texture. This approach prioritizes the expression of the grape and the vineyard's unique characteristics.
