ABOUT THIS WINE
Berthollier Chignin-Bergeron Saint Anthelme 2020 is a white wine from the Vin de Savoie appellation, specifically the Chignin-Bergeron cru. It is made solely from the Roussanne grape, known locally as Bergeron. The estate is managed by Denis and Didier Berthollier, representing the fifth generation of their family to be involved in winemaking since 1850. The family was instrumental in the creation of the Savoie AOC in 1970 and has been committed to organic farming practices for decades. The vineyards for this cru are situated on rocky scree soils with clayey, limestone marl subsoil, benefiting from significant sun exposure.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Berthollier Chignin-Bergeron Saint Anthelme 2020 is produced using Roussanne grapes. Fermentation and aging for this cuvée take place in barrels and demi-muids, with a focus on an extended aging period. Indigenous yeasts are utilized during fermentation, and minimal sulfur dioxide is added. The 'Saint Anthelme' cuvée specifically comes from the 'La Perette' vineyard plot, characterized by clay-limestone soil and a south-facing orientation.
