ABOUT THIS WINE
Château de Javernand, co-managed by fifth-generation family members Arthur Fourneau and Pierre Prost, dates back to 1917. Located in Chiroubles, the highest elevation Cru in Beaujolais, the estate treats its 50 hectares as a complete ecosystem, preserving woods and meadows alongside the vines. The 2022 vintage was marked by a warm, dry summer, yielding highly concentrated fruit from old vines (40 to 70 years old) grown on decomposed pink granite soils.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process begins with a 100% manual harvest to preserve whole-bunch integrity. Spontaneous fermentation is carried out using native yeasts. The wine is a blend of two distinct cement vats: one undergoes whole-cluster semi-carbonic maceration for 10 to 14 days, while the other is fully destemmed with a traditional maceration. It is aged for approximately 10 months in neutral concrete tanks with zero oak influence, and bottled with minimal sulfur.
