ABOUT THIS WINE

This organic red wine is crafted with a focus on minimal intervention, aiming to showcase the purity of the St. Laurent grape and the unique terroir of Göttlesbrunn. The Netzl family has a long history in the region, with vineyards transitioning to certified organic practices in 2013. The 'Christina' line, launched in 2015, features wines with vibrant, natural character, often distinguished by colorful labels that highlight vineyard biodiversity. The 2022 vintage of this St. Laurent is a testament to these principles, offering a fresh and expressive interpretation of the grape.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Christina St. Laurent is produced using a hands-off, natural winemaking approach. Grapes are hand-picked and undergo whole-bunch fermentation with carbonic maceration in closed, cool fermenters for 10-20 days. This process is followed by pressing and completion of fermentation in large, old oak vats, where malolactic fermentation also occurs. The wine is made with native yeasts, and crucially, it is left unfined and unfiltered to maintain its natural integrity and character. Aging takes place for about six months in these large old oak vats, preserving the wine's freshness and fruit-forward profile.
