ABOUT THIS WINE
Ciuri 2020 is a white wine from the Etna DOC appellation in Sicily, produced by Terrazze dell'Etna. It is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes, a variety typically used for red wines, making it a unique 'blanc de noirs' style. The vineyards are situated on the northwestern slopes of Mount Etna at altitudes ranging from 600 to 950 meters, where the soil is volcanic and rich in minerals. Terrazze dell'Etna, founded in 2008, focuses on reviving abandoned volcanic land and expressing the indigenous grape varieties of the region through minimal intervention.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Ciuri 2020 is produced using the 'in bianco' method, meaning the grapes are fermented without skin contact. After hand-harvesting, the must is settled before being transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation at controlled temperatures of around 12°C. The wine then undergoes aging on its noble lees in steel tanks for a minimum of 8 months, followed by a minimum of 6 months of bottle aging. Organic and integrated farming practices are employed in the vineyards.
