ABOUT THIS WINE
First Creek Wines was founded in 1998 by the Silkman family in the Hunter Valley, Australia. Now led by Shaun Silkman with winemaking helmed by Liz Silkman—the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Winemaker of the Year—the estate has earned a prestigious Red 5-Star rating. While the Hunter Valley is famous for Semillon, Verdelho is the region's vibrant, historical secret, introduced in the 1820s. This wine showcases the approachable, tropical side of the valley, crafted to offer immediate drinking pleasure and celebrate the region's unique maritime-influenced microclimate.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for this Verdelho focuses on preserving natural brightness and fruit purity. Sourced from premium vineyards in Pokolbin and the broader Hunter Valley, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Winemaker Liz Silkman employs a minimal-intervention approach with light settling and minimal fining. The wine is entirely unoaked, matured in stainless steel, and bottled early to retain its fresh, zesty character and vibrant profile.
