ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Huet, founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son Gaston, is the legendary estate that defined the heights of Vouvray. Located on the right bank of the Loire River, the estate was one of the earliest adopters of biodynamic agriculture in French viticulture, fully converting in 1990. The 'Clos du Bourg' is a historic, walled vineyard of six hectares, famed for its thin, stony clay-limestone soils resting on active limestone. This site yields some of the most structured, powerful, and age-worthy Chenin Blancs in the world, characterized by a profound mineral core and remarkable longevity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for the Clos du Bourg Demi-Sec are harvested by hand in multiple passes (tries) to select only the finest, perfectly ripe fruit, occasionally with a touch of noble rot. Fermentation takes place in old demi-muids (600-liter oak barrels) and stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts to preserve the purity of the terroir. The fermentation is naturally arrested by the drop in winter temperatures, leaving the perfect balance of residual sugar. The wine is aged on its fine lees before bottling, with minimal sulfur additions, maintaining its vibrant energy and natural balance.
