ABOUT THIS WINE
Clos Triguedina, a pioneering estate in Cahors, has been owned by the Baldès family since 1830. The name "Triguedina" originates from an Occitan phrase meaning "I am looking forward to dinner," a saying attributed to pilgrims who once stopped at the property on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The estate boasts a unique microclimate that famously protected some of its very old vines from the devastating 1956 frosts. Under the guidance of Jean-Luc Baldès, known as a "maître du Malbec," and with the involvement of his daughter Juliette, Clos Triguedina continues its legacy of crafting exceptional Malbec wines. The 2020 vintage has garnered positive critic reviews, reflecting the family's enduring commitment to quality and tradition in the South West of France.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Clos Triguedina is recognized as a modernizer within the Cahors appellation, employing contemporary techniques in their winemaking. The estate is certified ISO 26000 and operates as "Committed Winegrowers," underscoring their dedication to sustainable viticultural practices. Grapes are sourced from vineyards featuring old vines, contributing to the wine's concentration and complexity. Vinification takes place in a new, state-of-the-art winery, utilizing new barrels for aging. The wine is aged in oak, which imparts notes of fine wood and contributes to its dense texture and firmly structured profile, ensuring a balanced integration of oak characteristics.
