ABOUT THIS WINE
Coastlands Vineyard, planted in 1989 by David and Diane Cobb, is a pioneering estate situated on the extreme, wind-swept ridges of the Sonoma Coast near Occidental, California. Sitting at elevations up to 1,200 feet and just miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard was initially deemed too cold and foggy for successful viticulture. Today, under the direction of winemaker Ross Cobb, it is celebrated as a benchmark site for producing cool-climate Pinot Noir of exceptional tension, structure, and complexity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2022 vintage is a co-fermented blend of equal parts from the Old Firs block (planted in 1989) and the 1906 block (planted in 1998). Winemaker Ross Cobb utilized approximately 40% to 50% whole clusters during fermentation with native yeasts. Following a cold soak and a total of 30 days of skin contact, the wine was aged for 22 months in light-toast French oak barrels (20-30% new). It was bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its natural texture and aromatic purity.
