ABOUT THIS WINE
Contratto Vermouth Rosso is a non-vintage sweet red vermouth from Piedmont, Italy, produced by Contratto. The brand has revived its historic vermouth recipes, dating back to the 1890s, to cater to the craft cocktail movement. It is made using a base of white wine, primarily from the Cortese grape, fortified with Italian brandy, and infused with a complex blend of over 30 natural herbs, spices, roots, and seeds. Contratto, founded in 1867, is one of Italy's oldest producers of high-quality sparkling wine and is known for its artisanal revival ingredients.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Contratto Vermouth Rosso begins with a base of white wine, predominantly Cortese. Over 30 natural herbs, spices, roots, and seeds are crushed and undergo a cold extraction process with a hydro-alcoholic solution for 20 days. Following this infusion, the mixture is fortified with Italian brandy. The vermouth is then rested in stainless steel tanks for approximately 40 days to allow for flavor integration before bottling.
