ABOUT THIS WINE
The Miguel Torres Cordillera Carignan 2018 is a 100% Carignan wine from Chile's Maule Valley, a key participant in the VIGNO project focused on heritage old-vine Carignan. Miguel Torres, a family winery with a long history and a commitment to sustainability, sources this wine from dry-farmed, ancient vines in the Huerta de Maule sector. The region's warm Mediterranean climate with cool nights contributes to the character of the grapes grown in granite-derived soils. This wine represents a revival and modern interpretation of Carignan, emphasizing agility and drinkability from rescued old vines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the Cordillera Carignan 2018 begins with harvested and sorted grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks for 10 days at 24-25°C. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in French oak barrels. The wine is subsequently aged for 14 months in French oak, utilizing a mix of new (34%) and second-fill (66%) barrels. This approach aims to balance varietal expression with subtle oak integration.
