ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodegas La Horra was established in 2009 in Ribera del Duero as a strategic collaboration between legendary Rioja producer Bodegas RODA and local viticulturists Pedro and Pablo Balbás. Situated in the cooler, high-altitude Burgos sub-region, the estate focuses on old, dry-farmed bush vines of Tinta del País. The project brings RODA's refined winemaking philosophy to Ribera del Duero, aiming to craft balanced wines that express fruit clarity and regional terroir over heavy oak influence.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Grapes are organically farmed from non-irrigated bush vines averaging 20 to 30 years in age. Harvesting is performed entirely by hand into 16 kg crates, followed by strict sorting on vibrating tables. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak and ages for 14 months in a combination of 80% French and 20% American oak barriques before natural stabilization and clarification with egg whites.
