ABOUT THIS WINE
The Corty Artisan "Intro" Sancerre is a testament to generations of winemaking heritage, stemming from the union of the Corty and Moreux families whose roots in viticulture trace back to 1677. Crafted by Patrice Moreux, the 14th generation winemaker, this label was specifically created to embody a philosophy of natural and sustainable wine production. The grapes for this white wine are meticulously sourced from two of Sancerre's most esteemed sites, Chavignol and Crezancy, renowned for their Kimmeridgian limestone and calcareous-clay soils. This unique terroir imparts a distinctive purity, clarity, and persistence to the wine, making it a quintessential expression of Sancerre's celebrated character.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking at Corty Artisan follows a deeply natural and sustainable approach, guided by the domaine's motto: 'the land is our church'. Viticultural practices are focused on respecting the environment, with a commitment to natural methods in the vineyard. In the cellar, the wine undergoes a natural vinification process, notably with fermentation guided by lunar cycles. Crucially, no added yeasts or enzymes are used, allowing the indigenous yeasts to express the unique terroir. Sulphur additions are kept to a minimum, applied only at the point of bottling to preserve the wine's integrity and natural expression.
