ABOUT THIS WINE
Coste di Moro Lunaria Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a red wine from the Terre di Chieti sub-region of Abruzzo, Italy. Produced by Soc Coop Ag Olearia Vinicola Orsogna, a cooperative established in 1964, this wine is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes. Cantina Orsogna is recognized as a leader in organic and biodynamic viticulture, being one of the first to adopt 100% organic farming in 2002 and a significant biodynamic producer certified by Demeter. The winery's ethos emphasizes the protection of the Majella National Park's biodiversity and agricultural heritage. The Lunaria line features single-varietal bottlings, and the producer actively participates in conservation efforts, such as supporting the WWF LIFE Euroturtles project. The vineyards are located at 450 meters above sea level, benefiting from a mountainous climate influenced by the nearby Adriatic Sea.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Coste di Moro Lunaria Montepulciano d'Abruzzo involves organic and biodynamic farming practices. Grapes are de-stemmed and crushed, then undergo maceration with indigenous yeasts for 10-15 days in concrete tanks at temperatures between 25-28°C. Post-fermentation, the wine is aged for at least four months, with part of it maturing in oak barrels and the remainder in stainless steel tanks, before further aging in bottle. The producer, Soc Coop Ag Olearia Vinicola Orsogna, is a cooperative committed to sustainable viticulture and environmental stewardship.
