ABOUT THIS WINE
Cristina Medium Oloroso is a non-vintage Sherry from González Byass, a renowned bodega founded in 1835. The wine is named in honor of María Cristina of Habsburg-Lorraine and is a medium-dry Oloroso, a classification within the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry y Manzanilla appellation. It is crafted primarily from Palomino Fino grapes with a touch of Pedro Ximénez. The wine undergoes a traditional solera system aging process for seven years in American oak butts, contributing to its unique profile.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Cristina Medium Oloroso is produced using a solera system, a traditional method of fractional blending for aging fortified wines. The grapes, Palomino Fino and Pedro Ximénez, are vinified separately and undergo initial oxidative aging. Following this, the wine is aged for seven years in American oak butts as part of the solera system. Fortification is a key step in the production of Sherry, increasing the alcohol content and preserving the wine.
