ABOUT THIS WINE
Curtimenta by Nanaí is an artisanal skin-contact (orange) wine crafted in Barcelos, within the Minho region of Portugal. Produced by Nanaí, a project dedicated to low-intervention winemaking, this wine brings together the structure of Chardonnay, the vibrant acidity of Arinto, and the highly aromatic profile of Moscato. The name 'Curtimenta' refers to the traditional Portuguese method of skin maceration, which imparts a beautiful amber hue and complex texture to the wine. Reflecting its natural philosophy, the wine is bottled unfiltered, preserving its raw character and terroir expression.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process centers on skin-contact fermentation (curtimenta) to extract color, light tannins, and complex aromatics from the grape skins. The blend of Chardonnay, Arinto, and Moscato undergoes spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts. Following maceration, the wine is aged on its fine lees to build texture and mouthfeel. In line with natural winemaking practices, the wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined, which may result in a natural sediment ('sujeito a depósto') in the bottle.
