ABOUT THIS WINE
Slobodne Vinárstvo is an independent, family-run winery based in Zemianske Sady, Slovakia. Led by sisters Agnes Lovecka and Katarina Kuropkova alongside their partners, the estate has a rich history dating back to the early 20th century, which was interrupted by WWII and the subsequent communist regime. Re-established in 1997, the family has focused on restoring the biodiversity of their farm and transitioning to biodynamic viticulture. They are pioneers of the Slovak natural wine movement, crafting expressive, low-intervention wines that reflect their unique terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Cutis Deviner is made from the indigenous Slovak grape variety Devín. The name 'Cutis' (Latin for skin) highlights the skin-contact method used. The grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and are macerated on the skins for several weeks in open-top fermenters. The wine is aged in a combination of old oak casks and clay amphorae (qvevri) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal or no added sulfur.
