ABOUT THIS WINE
The Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 originates from the Apalta DO in Chile's Colchagua Valley. This wine is distinguished by its use of old vines, with some Cabernet Sauvignon blocks dating back to 1920. The producer, Lapostolle, was established in 1994 with a vision to blend French winemaking heritage with Chilean terroir. The Apalta region's specific micro-climate, influenced by its topography and soil composition, plays a significant role in shaping the wine's character. The 2021 vintage benefited from cooler weather, enhancing its complexity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is produced using grapes that are 100% hand-harvested in small cases. Strict fruit selection is performed using optical technology. Fermentation occurs with wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 24°C and 25°C, employing gentle extraction methods. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels. The winery adheres to Demeter-certified Biodynamic and Organic farming practices and is transitioning towards a holistic Sustainability Certification.
