ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Guion is located in the village of Benais within the Bourgueil appellation of France's Loire Valley. Established in the early 1950s by Jean and Yolande Guion, the domain became a pioneer in organic viticulture when it converted entirely in 1965. Today, winemaker Stéphane Guion manages the estate's 8.5 hectares using organic and biodynamic practices on clay-limestone soils over tuffeau chalk bedrock. Cuvée Candide is named in homage to Voltaire's classic novel, symbolizing purity, optimism, and an honest expression of young-vine Cabernet Franc.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand from vines under 30 years of age. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using native yeasts without any enological additives. Skin maceration lasts between 10 and 15 days. The wine is aged for 8 to 10 months strictly in stainless steel vats before bottling to preserve vibrant fruit purity and minerality without oak influence. Minimal sulfur is added prior to bottling.
