ABOUT THIS WINE

It is crafted to be a sensory representation of the diverse soils found in Merfy, with each vineyard plot contributing to the final blend. The Chartogne-Taillet family has a long history in the region, with Alexandre Chartogne, a highly regarded winemaker, now at the helm. He is committed to expressing the unique terroir of Merfy, a village where his estate is the sole grower-producer.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Cuvée Sainte Anne Brut is produced using a meticulous, parcel-specific approach. Grapes from each vineyard block are vinified separately, utilizing indigenous yeasts for fermentation. The fermentation and aging process takes place in a diverse range of vessels, including stainless steel tanks, oak barrels of various sizes (228L, 350L, 2000L), and concrete eggs, with the choice depending on the specific parcel. Base wines are aged for 8-18 months before blending. Reserve wines are also aged in barrels and tanks. The wine is bottled without filtration to preserve its texture and character. The dosage is consistently low, typically between 2.5 and 7 grams per liter.
