The wine is a cuvée from seven distinct parcels of very old vines (70-85 years old) located in Comblanchien. Lienhardt, a fourth-generation winemaker, champions the potential of this terroir, which he believes is of Premier Cru quality. His winemaking philosophy is minimalist and natural, utilizing certified organic and biodynamic farming practices. WINE MAKING PROCESS
Emphase is produced using 100% whole grape clusters and indigenous yeasts, with minimal intervention throughout the winemaking process. The grapes are sourced from very old vines in Comblanchien, farmed using certified organic and biodynamic methods. After fermentation, the wine is aged for one year in a blend of 70% old oak barrels, 15% stoneware jars, and 15% concrete egg. Very little sulfur is added. This approach is designed to preserve the natural purity and vibrant expression of the Pinot Noir fruit and the unique Comblanchien terroir.
