ABOUT THIS WINE
The Dogliani Cursalet is a 100% Dolcetto red wine from the Dogliani DOCG appellation in Piedmont, Italy. It originates from the Azienda Agricola Gillardi, a family estate with a long history in the region, dating back to Giacomo Gillardi's return from France in 1928. The Cursalet wine is named after the family's historic estate, 'Cascina Corsaletto,' located in Farigliano. The vines used for this wine are over 85 years old and are situated on the 'poggio di Corsaletto' vineyard, characterized by calcareous clayey soil and a southwest exposure. A distinctive aspect of the Cursalet's production is its traditional vinification without any wood contact, a deliberate choice to preserve the natural expressiveness and identity of the Dolcetto grape.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Azienda Agricola Gillardi practices viticulture with a strong emphasis on respecting nature, avoiding herbicides and using minimal copper and sulfur. For the Dogliani Cursalet, fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks. Wines undergoing longer maceration may utilize small glazed cement tanks for natural temperature control. A defining characteristic of the Cursalet is its traditional vinification without any wood contact, a deliberate choice to maintain the wine's inherent expressiveness and identity. The annual production for Cursalet typically ranges between 9,000 and 11,000 bottles.
