ABOUT THIS WINE
Dry Sack is a sherry produced by Williams & Humbert, a winery with a history dating back to 1877. The brand, introduced in 1906, is known for its distinctive name, derived from the Spanish word 'saca' meaning the wine drawn from the solera for bottling, and its historical packaging in a burlap sack. The brand was created by Carl Williams, son of founder Alexander Williams, before World War I. The wine originates from the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry region in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, Spain, a location renowned for its sherry production. Williams & Humbert is recognized as one of the oldest and most respected sherry producers in the world.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Dry Sack begins with first-press musts fermented at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wine is fortified with wine distillates. A key technique is the aging process, which utilizes the traditional Solera and Criadera System in American oak barrels. This system involves a fractional blending of wines from different ages, with the standard Dry Sack Medium aged for a minimum average of six years. Williams & Humbert also implements sustainable practices, including the abandonment of chemical pesticides and the use of pheromones for pest control, alongside modern techniques like drone monitoring of vines and soil research.
