ABOUT THIS WINE

Established in 1969, Yarra Yering is one of the region's oldest estates, known for producing wines with structure and longevity. This particular wine is a blend of Semillon and Chardonnay, a combination that sets it apart within its regional context. The vineyard's mature, dry-grown vines, planted in 1969, contribute to the wine's character. The 2018 vintage is recognized for its considerable aging potential. WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2018 Yarra Yering Dry White No. 1 is produced from hand-harvested Semillon and Chardonnay grapes. The Chardonnay undergoes whole bunch pressing and fermentation in older French oak barrels with natural yeasts. The Semillon is crushed with some skin contact before fermentation in neutral oak barrels. Both components are aged on lees in neutral oak, a process that builds texture and depth. The wine is bottled without filtration to preserve its detail and potential for aging.
