ABOUT THIS WINE
Established in 1980, Drylands was one of the early, defining pioneers that helped put Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc on the global map. The brand's crest tells their history: three trees represent the decades-long growth of their original vineyards, the winding Wairau River symbolises the terroir's life force, and the structured lines celebrate the estate's legacy. Chief Winemaker Dave Edmonds has steered the production of Drylands for over 21 years, providing a level of continuity and precision that is highly unusual for large-volume Marlborough producers.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Sourced from vineyards spanning both the Wairau Valley and Awatere Valley, including the original 'Home Block' planted in 1980. The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to emphasize freshness and capture delicate fruit aromatics. The process utilizes specially selected 'thiol-generating' yeasts to trigger and elevate volatile thiols during fermentation, dramatically enhancing the wine's tropical passionfruit and pink grapefruit aromatics. The wine is 100% unoaked and kept in stainless steel vessels to maintain a bright, high-acid profile.
