ABOUT THIS WINE
The Duorum Vintage Port 2007 is a significant release, being the inaugural Vintage Port from Duorum Vinhos, founded in 2007 by oenologists João Portugal Ramos and José Maria Soares Franco. The name 'Duorum' reflects this partnership. The wine is a product of grapes sourced from two distinct Douro sub-regions: Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. The 2007 vintage was characterized by favorable weather, leading to excellent grape ripening and a balanced harvest. The wine is crafted from a field blend dominated by old vines, primarily Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, reflecting the traditional winemaking heritage of the Douro.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Duorum Vintage Port 2007 begins with hand-harvested grapes from old vines, selected in small cases. A pre-fermentative maceration is followed by fermentation in stainless steel lagares, where robotized treading is employed at controlled temperatures up to 30°C to ensure optimal extraction. Fortification is achieved using a carefully selected spirit chosen for its elegance. The wine then undergoes approximately two years of aging in oak vats before bottling. The winemaking process emphasizes a blend of traditional Douro techniques with modern precision to capture the essence of the vintage and the distinct terroirs of Cima Corgo and Douro Superior.
