ABOUT THIS WINE
The Fontanafredda Ebbio Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 is a red wine from the Langhe DOC appellation in Piedmont, Italy, produced by Fontanafredda. Founded in 1858, Fontanafredda is a historic estate with a strong connection to the region's winemaking heritage. The Langhe DOC classification allows for Nebbiolo grapes to be vinified into wines that offer a more immediate expression of the varietal, distinct from the more age-worthy Barolo and Barbaresco. Fontanafredda is recognized for its commitment to sustainable and organic farming practices, a philosophy they refer to as their 'Green Renaissance'.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Fontanafredda Ebbio Langhe Nebbiolo undergoes traditional red wine fermentation with maceration lasting 10-15 days in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 24-28°C. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for about 10 months in large Slavonian oak casks, a process that contributes to its structure and complexity. It then undergoes a further 3 months of bottle refinement before release. Harvest typically takes place in the first ten days of October. Fontanafredda employs sustainable and organic farming practices as part of its 'Green Renaissance' initiative.
