ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodegas Altanza was established in 1998 in Fuenmayor, Rioja Alta, by a group of local entrepreneurs focused on crafting modern-style Rioja wines. Concentrating predominantly on Tempranillo, Altanza stands out by utilizing French oak barrels alongside traditional oak, placing an emphasis on pure fruit expression, elegance, and balance. Located in the Fuenmayor zone at altitudes ranging between 380 and 500 meters, the estate follows sustainable viticultural practices without chemical herbicides.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 28°C over 12 to 15 days, followed by an additional 10 days of skin maceration. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel before the wine is transferred to French oak barrels for 12 months of aging. The wine then rests for two additional months in large 22-hectoliter French Allier oak vats (tinos) before final maturation in bottle.
