ABOUT THIS WINE
Elias Mora Crianza 2020 is a red wine from Bodega Elias Mora in the DO Toro appellation of Castilla y León, Spain. It is made from 100% Tinta de Toro, a local clone of Tempranillo grown on old, own-rooted vines, some exceeding 80 years in age. The vineyards are situated at altitudes between 700 and 800 meters, with soils rich in clay and limestone. The winery, founded in 2000, is named after the former vineyard owner and is led by Victoria Benavides, who combines traditional winemaking with modern techniques. The Bodega Elias Mora philosophy centers on showcasing the distinct character of the Tinta de Toro grape and the unique terroir of the Toro region. Organic farming practices are utilized in the vineyards.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Elias Mora Crianza begins with a manual harvest, where grapes are meticulously selected in small boxes. A pre-fermentation maceration period of up to three days is employed. Fermentation and malolactic fermentation both occur in stainless steel tanks. Following these stages, the wine is aged for 12 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels, which can include new and used casks. The winery's approach emphasizes quality control from vineyard to bottle, focusing on the expression of the Tinta de Toro grape.
