Englar Chardonnay Riserva Südtirol 2020 is produced by Weingut Schloss Englar in Eppan, South Tyrol, under the Alto Adige DOC appellation. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on vines over 40 years old in the estate's warmest sections, situated at 500-550 meters altitude on porphyry moraine soil with lime. The Graf Khuen-Belasi family, owners since 1640, revived the estate's own vinification in 2012, emphasizing organic farming and reduced yields. The wine is a testament to the estate's long history and commitment to expressing its unique terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Englar Chardonnay Riserva Südtirol 2020 is produced using 100% Chardonnay grapes. Vinification begins with spontaneous fermentation in 10 hl oak barrels and used tonneau barrels. The wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. It is then aged for 15 months in oak barrels, with monthly batonnage. The grapes are hand-harvested in two passes, two weeks apart, typically in mid-September.
