ABOUT THIS WINE
Elk Cove Vineyards is one of Oregon's oldest and most respected wineries, founded in 1974 by Pat and Joe Campbell. Located in the Yamhill-Carlton sub-appellation of the Willamette Valley, the estate remains family-owned and operated by second-generation winemaker Adam Campbell. Elk Cove was a pioneer in planting Pinot Gris in Oregon, recognizing early on that the cool climate and marine sedimentary soils of the Willamette Valley were ideal for producing white wines with vibrant acidity and rich fruit character. The Estate Pinot Gris is sourced from several of their estate vineyards, including Elk Cove, Windhill, Mount Richmond, Clay Court, and Goodrich, all of which are sustainably farmed.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the Estate Pinot Gris focuses on preserving the fresh fruit character and bright acidity of the grape. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently whole-cluster pressed to avoid extracting bitter phenolics. The juice is settled and then fermented entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is kept cool to retain delicate primary aromatics. To add texture and complexity without introducing oak flavors, the wine is aged on its fine lees in stainless steel for several months before being blended and bottled.
