ABOUT THIS WINE
Ktima Gerovassiliou was founded in 1981 by Evangelos Gerovassiliou, who set out to revive his family's historical vineyard in Epanomi, Macedonia. Having studied oenology at the University of Bordeaux under the legendary Professor Émile Peynaud, Gerovassiliou is a pioneer of modern Greek winemaking. The estate's single, privately owned vineyard is surrounded by the sea on three sides, benefiting from a unique microclimate that moderates temperatures. This red blend represents a masterful marriage of international varieties with the ancient Greek grape Limnio, famously recorded by Aristotle in the 4th century BC.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Syrah, Merlot, and Limnio grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified separately. The process follows classic red winemaking methods, including extended skin maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats. The wine is then aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels in the estate's underground, temperature-controlled cellars. It is bottled without aggressive fining or filtration to preserve its natural structure, complexity, and aging potential.
