ABOUT THIS WINE
The Girolamo Russo Etna Rosato DOC 2022 is a rosé wine from Sicily, Italy, produced by Girolamo Russo. It is made exclusively from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes and originates from the Etna DOC appellation. The vineyards are situated on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, at elevations between 650 and 800 meters above sea level, on soils derived from ancient lava flows. The winery was founded in 2005 by Giuseppe Russo, who manages the organically farmed vineyards, some of which feature vines over 80 years old. This rosé is considered distinctive due to its volcanic origin and the use of Nerello Mascalese.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Girolamo Russo Etna Rosato DOC 2022 is produced through spontaneous fermentation utilizing indigenous yeasts. The grapes undergo a short maceration on the skins, lasting approximately 5 hours, before being aged for about six months in stainless steel tanks. This aging process is designed to maintain the wine's freshness and aromatic profile. The grapes are harvested manually, typically in early October. The winery follows organic viticulture practices.
