ABOUT THIS WINE
The Pietradolce Etna Rosso 2022 is a red wine from the Etna DOC appellation in Sicily, produced by Pietradolce. It is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes grown at high altitudes on the volcanic northern slopes of Mount Etna. The winery's name, 'sweet stone,' reflects the mineral-rich volcanic soil. Founded in 2007, Pietradolce is guided by winemaker Carlo Ferrini and emphasizes a connection to its unique terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Pietradolce Etna Rosso 2022 is produced using hand-harvested Nerello Mascalese grapes. Fermentation occurs in concrete tanks for eight days with cultivated yeast at temperatures between 22-28°C, followed by 18 days of traditional maceration. The wine then undergoes natural malolactic fermentation. It is aged for three months in 700-liter French oak barrels (2-6 years old, light toast) and an additional three months in bottle before release.
