ABOUT THIS WINE
Famiglia Zonin's Amarone della Valpolicella represents a pinnacle of Venetian winemaking excellence, crafted by one of Italy's most historic wine families. Founded in 1821 in Gambellara, Veneto, the estate is now managed by its seventh generation. This wine is a tribute to the ancient Roman traditions of the region, utilizing local grape varieties grown in the rolling, limestone-rich hills of the Valpolicella DOCG zone. Zonin is deeply committed to environmental stewardship, generating nearly half of its own energy through solar power and practicing sustainable viticulture to preserve the unique biodiversity of their northern Italian estates.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
This wine is produced using the traditional Appassimento method. Hand-harvested grapes are laid flat in well-ventilated drying rooms (fruttaio) for approximately 120 days, losing about 50% of their weight and concentrating both sugars and flavors. In January, the semi-dried grapes are pressed and undergo a week of cold pre-maceration on the skins. This is followed by a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation lasting four to six weeks. The wine is then aged for at least 24 months in traditional 30-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, followed by an additional six months of refinement in the bottle before release.
