ABOUT THIS WINE
Fantini Primitivo Puglia IGT is crafted by the Fantini Group, a renowned producer founded in Abruzzo in 1994 by three passionate dreamers. Operating on a unique, asset-light model, Fantini partners directly with small-scale growers across Southern Italy, providing them with advanced oenological support to revitalize historical native grapes. This wine showcases the Primitivo grape, native to Puglia and grown in the iron-rich clay and limestone soils of the Salento Peninsula. The region's hot Mediterranean climate is tempered by cooling breezes from the nearby Ionian Sea, allowing the grapes to develop rich, concentrated flavors while maintaining balance.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process begins with the early harvest of Primitivo grapes at the end of August. After de-stemming and soft crushing, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled maceration for 8 to 10 days. Regular pumping overs are performed to gently extract color and soft tannins. Following racking, the wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. To add complexity and roundness, the wine is refined in used American and French oak barriques for 4 to 5 months before bottling.
