ABOUT THIS WINE

The Adega Cooperativa de Favaios was established in 1952 by over one hundred local grape growers, forming a collective to support and promote their regional wines. The wine's production is notable as it is a non-vintage blend, ensuring a consistent style. It is also recognized for its vegan-friendly status, utilizing plant-based enological products.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Favaíto Moscatel do Douro is produced by lightly crushing the Moscatel Galego Branco grapes and allowing them to macerate on their skins for two days at controlled temperatures (23-25°C). Fermentation is then stopped by the addition of brandy, a process known as fortification, which results in a wine with high alcohol and residual sugar. Following fortification, the wine undergoes a maturation period of three years in stainless steel tanks before its release. This method of aging in stainless steel is chosen to maintain the wine's fresh, fruity character and aromatic intensity.
