ABOUT THIS WINE
Feliz Skins is a distinctive white wine from Ribera del Duero, Spain, produced by Feliz Compañía Vinícola, also known as Vino Feliz. The wine is a monovarietal expression of the indigenous Albillo Mayor grape, a variety the winery is dedicated to reviving. Located in Aranda de Duero with vineyards in Hoyales de Roa, the winery operates under organic viticulture practices. What sets Feliz Skins apart is its classification as an orange wine, achieved through an extended 90-day maceration period with the grape skins. This process imparts a unique color, texture, and complexity. The wine is aged for 18 months in acacia and French oak barrels, followed by resting in cement tanks. Félix Marina Gil, the winemaker, is a sommelier and restaurateur whose passion for his native region's heritage inspired the creation of this unique white wine in a region predominantly known for reds. The winery's total annual production is around 2,500 cases, making Feliz Skins a limited-production offering.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Feliz Skins is produced using a distinctive skin-contact method. The Albillo Mayor grapes undergo a lengthy maceration and fermentation period with their skins for 90 days, classifying it as an orange wine. Following this, the wine is aged for 18 months in a combination of 500-liter acacia and French oak barrels. After barrel aging, the wine is blended and allowed to rest in cement tanks before bottling. The winery practices organic viticulture in its vineyards located at 800 meters altitude in Hoyales de Roa. This approach emphasizes the revival of the native Albillo Mayor grape and showcases a unique winemaking style within the Ribera del Duero appellation.
