ABOUT THIS WINE
Weingut Leth, located in Fels am Wagram in Lower Austria, was founded in 1960 by Barbara and Franz Leth Senior. Today, the estate is directed by third-generation winemaker Franz Leth Jr., who has steered the winery toward certified organic viticulture. The estate is highly regarded for its focus on regional typicity, particularly within the Wagram DAC. The vineyards benefit from unique, deep loess soils formed by glacial winds, which provide excellent water retention and a distinct mineral foundation for the vines. Weingut Leth is an esteemed member of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter (ÖTW), a group dedicated to classifying the greatest vineyard sites in Austria.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the Klassik line emphasizes freshness and varietal purity. Grapes are 100% hand-harvested with selective sorting in the vineyard. Upon arrival at the cellar, the Grüner Veltliner grapes undergo gentle crushing followed by a brief skin contact period of three to five hours. Fermentation takes place slowly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using a combination of wild and cultured yeasts to enhance complexity. The wine is aged on its fine lees in stainless steel for two to three months before being racked, clarified, and bottled early in the year following harvest to preserve its vibrant primary fruit character.
