ABOUT THIS WINE
Florbela Reserva 2023 is a red wine from Portugal's Dão region, produced by Vinihold. It is a blend of Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Nacional, indigenous Portuguese grape varieties. Vinihold was founded in 1998 by Fernando and Álvaro van Zeller, who come from a family with a 14th-generation winemaking history. The grapes for this wine are sourced from Quinta da Mariposa, an estate established by Lúcia Freitas. The Dão region is recognized for its high-altitude vineyards and granite soils, contributing to the character of its wines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Florbela Reserva 2023 begins with hand-harvested grapes, collected in 20kg boxes. Following destemming and crushing, the grapes undergo a two-day cold maceration in stainless steel open tanks. Fermentation is conducted under temperature control. A portion of the wine, approximately 20%, is then aged for eight months in used 500-liter French oak casks.
