ABOUT THIS WINE
The Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port 2012 is a fortified wine from Portugal's Douro Demarcated Region. Produced by Fonseca, a historic Port house, this wine is made in years when a classic Fonseca Vintage Port is not declared, offering a style that is more approachable and intended for earlier drinking. It originates from the same three estates that supply Fonseca's classic Vintage Ports, embodying their heritage and complex fruity character. The 2012 vintage was shaped by a cold, dry winter and a cool ripening season, resulting in low yields but intense aromatics and fresh acidity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port 2012 is produced using the traditional Port wine method. Grapes are trodden in granitic stone Lagares to extract color, tannins, and flavor. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for two years in French oak wood hulls before bottling. Guimaraens Vintage Ports are designed to be more approachable and drink earlier than classic Fonseca Vintage Ports.
