ABOUT THIS WINE
Fontanasanta Nosiola is a benchmark skin-contact white wine crafted by the iconic Foradori estate, located in the foothills of the Dolomites in Trentino, Italy. Under the guidance of Elisabetta Foradori and her children, the estate has become a global beacon for biodynamic viticulture. This wine is sourced from the Fontanasanta hills, a high-altitude site overlooking Trento characterized by clay-limestone soils. Nosiola is an ancient, native grape of the region that was nearly forgotten; Foradori's dedication to reviving it through ancestral methods has redefined its potential, showcasing a deep connection to the alpine terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Fontanasanta Nosiola is defined by minimal intervention and ancient techniques. The grapes are harvested by hand from biodynamically farmed vineyards. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts on the skins in Spanish clay amphorae (tinajas). The wine remains in contact with the skins in these amphorae for approximately eight months, allowing for natural extraction and stabilization without temperature control. It is bottled without fining or filtration, and with only minimal sulfur additions, preserving the pure, textured expression of the grape.
